Check out this article from Brandon George over at the DMN. I found this quote from Texas Tech Chancellor Kent Hance of particular interest:
"We had thought about Pat Green from Tech and Garth Brooks from Oklahoma State," Hance said.
As much as I like Pat Green...and Texas Tech...this could be an interesting series of events. The addition of Garth Brooks playing in Dallas (he sold out Billy Bob's and Texas Stadium faster than anybody ever) would likely draw even more people in for th event.
On a serious note, if Tech is getting the same $5 mil/year that Arkie and Aggie are getting...then this is a no-brainer to put the game at Jerry World. Hate it or love it, the TTU Athletic Dept doesn't have a donor giving 9 figures to upgrade the facilities and pay for every last tube of toothpaste used by it's athletes...so $5 mil is HUGE as far as they're concerned. Sign me up...my $200 for 2 club level tickets is in the mail!
